Horse’s Throat Slit To Settle Score

Three boys in Chennai slit the throat of a 10-year-old retired police race horse  just to settle scores with the owner.

Chennai: In an inhuman act, three boys in Chennai slit the throat of a 10-year-old retired police race horse on Thursday just to settle scores with the owner.

Abilekh, the horse from Nadukuppam, had to be rushed to the Madras Veterinary College where vets put in 25 stitches in an arc around the neck.

The horse was being used by S Rajesh to entertain visitors at Marina Beach.

According to the police, Rajesh had a fight with Gokul, from the same locality. Gokul reportedly had broken a window of a car.

Rajesh witnessed the incident and tipped off the car owner and police about the act. Gokul had to pay up for the damage. Since then he was trying to take revenge.

“They knew that Rajesh’s only source of livelihood is the horse. So they decided to kill the horse”, the police said.

Police have picked up Vishal, 19, and Karthik, 22, of the three accused and are searching for Gokul.

The horse is recovering and is likely to be discharged soon.

Abilekh was one among the ten horses in Rajesh’s stable.
