The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has yesterday (August 03) extended the foreign travel ban imposed on former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe and his brother former Finance Minister Basil Rajapakshe until 11th of August after taken in to consideration a motion filed against them and the former Central Bank governor Ajith Nivad Cabral requesting the court to prevent them leaving the country.
According to the motion filed at the Supreme Court on 13th of July, the petitioners had named the former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe, Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapakshe and Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cavral as respondents of the current economic crisis prevailing in the country.
