Sushant suicide case: ED grills Rhea for money laundering

Actress Riya Chakraborty, who was surrounded by allegations in the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has reached the Mumbai office to record a statement in front of the ED.

Earlier, Rhea requested the ED to defer her questioning in connection with the money laundering probe and call her only after the Supreme Court hearing.

The ED had issued a notice to Riya Chakraborty on Friday to record the statement.

The ED is investigating alleged financial irregularities in the case.

The body of Sushant Singh Rajput was found in his Mumbai home on 14 June. The Mumbai Police is investigating it as a suicide.

But the new twist in this case came when Sushant Singh Rajput’s father lodged an FIR in Bihar’s capital Patna, making serious allegations against Riya Chakraborty.

The controversy over the scope of investigation in Bihar Police and Mumbai Police increased and now this matter is in the Supreme Court. Riya Chakraborty has also questioned the investigation of Bihar Police in Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the Bihar government recommended a CBI inquiry into the matter and the central government also approved it and issued a notification.

However, this matter is in the Supreme Court right now. The CBI has also constituted a Special Team for investigation and has also registered a case against six people including Riya Chakraborty.
