Sri Lankan Union Leader Joseph Remanded

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage had yesterday (August 04) ordered to remand the General secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union and one of the main leaders of the Galle Face protest Joseph Stalin until 12th of August over holding a protest march by violating a court order.

The Colombo Fort Police had arrested Stalin last Wednesday (August 03) evening over organizing a protest march in Colombo fort on 28th of May by violating a court order issued against holding a protest in the area. Police had produced the suspect before the Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday.

Meanwhile Colombo Fort Magistrate Court had released two leaders of the Galle Face protest Pathum Kerner and YouTube /Social Media activist Ranidu Senarathne alias “Ratta” who were arrested and remanded last week, on bail.
