Social Media Activist Arrested Over Protesting In Front Of The Parliament

Social Media Activist and one of the founders of the Galle Face Protest Pathum Kerner had been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) yesterday (July 28) in connection with the unruly incidents occurred at the entry road to the Parliament near Polduwa Junction in Colombo on 13th of July during a protest campaign held there.

He was arrested on his arrival to the CCD to give a statement regarding the incidents occurred during the protest at Polduwa Junction it has been reported. According to the Colombo Crimes Division Kerner was responsible for assembling people near the Parliament on 13th of July and attempting to break the barricades setup to protect the Parliament.

Kerner was summoned by the CCD on 18th of July regarding the incident. However he had informed the CCD through his lawyer that he was unable to appear before the CCD citing ill health.
