Newly elected President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to be sworn in as the President of Sri Lanka tomorrow (July 21) at the Parliament Building in capital Colombo.
Delivering a speech at the Parliament this morning after being elected as the 08th Executive President of Sri Lanka, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has made a special appeal from all the factions to come together to implement a new mechanism to solve the problems faced by people of the country.
“Sri Lanka is currently under economic crisis and youth are demanding a system change to overcome this crisis. People are not demanding us to do old politics anymore and what they want is all the parties to come together and work with unity. All the factions in the Parliament including the other two contestants who contested with me at the President’s race MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa should join hands with me to implement a new mechanism to overcome the current crisis faced by the country” he has stressed.
