Scientists Say New Strain of Swine Flu Virus Is Spreading to Humans in China

Beijing: Now a new virus has emerged amidst the coronavirus spreading from Wuhan, China. Researchers in China have detected a new type of swine flu, which may take the form of an epidemic. The study is published on Monday in PNAS, an American science journal. It is named G4. It is genetically the same form of H1N1, which became an epidemic in 2009.

New virus can infect humans

According to the scientists of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, it contains a lot of essential things to infect humans. From 2011 to 2018, researchers took nose swabs of 30,000 pigs in 10 Chinese courts and slaughterhouses of a veterinary hospital. During this time, 179 swine flu viruses were allowed to be isolated.

Is more deadly than other viruses

This virus is similar to that which was effective among pigs in 2016. The G4 is a highly contagious virus. It can cause more severe symptoms in human cells than other viruses. Tests have revealed that human immunity does not provide G4 protection to humans even from exposure to seasonal flu. According to blood tests, 10.4 percent of the antibodies produced in the body of the infected after exposure to the virus have been found to be pre-infected.

There is no evidence of spreading to humans

No evidence of how this virus has spread in humans has been found. The scientist is very concerned about this. Apart from this, scientists have also expressed concern about the risk of becoming an epidemic of the disease. The writer has said to monitor people working with pigs.
