London’s Towering Inferno: Many Feared Dead

A massive fire today engulfed a tower block in London and many are feared dead, roasted alive.

Latest reports coming in says that several may have been roasted alive after a massive fire raged said through the night at a west London tower block.

BBC quoting eyewitnesses described people being trapped in the burning Grenfell Tower, in north Kensington, screaming for help and yelling for their children to be saved.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan admitted that  “a lot” of people were unaccounted for. London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton too said there had been “a number of fatalities” but she could not say how many because of the “size and complexity” of the building.

The 24-storey block may collapse at any time, sources said.

An eyewitness said: ‘It was like a horror movie’

The cause of this “unprecedented incident” was not yet known, she said, but added that the tower was structurally safe enough for her crews to be working inside.

BBC quoted eyewitness Jody Martin as saying: “I watched one person falling out, I watched another woman holding her baby out the window… hearing screams.

“I was yelling at everyone to get down and they were saying ‘We can’t leave our apartments, the smoke is too bad on the corridors.'”

The fire at Grenfell Tower on the Lancaster West Estate was reported at 01:16 local time. Over 200 firefighters are tackling the blaze which is believed to be the largest in recent times.

Even as the flames continued to leap up, residents continue to be evacuated from the tower block.

There has been debris falling from the building and eyewitnesses reported hearing huge noise of glass breaking.

The tower is still reportedly “burning out of control”, from the tenth floor onwards. Smoke could be seen from miles away

The entire area is covered in ash and smoke.
