Do Not Fly Kites, Kapil Mishra; Bring Evidence To The Table

Sacked AAP minister Kapil Mishra is only flying kites by alleging that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took bribe. He has to bring hard evidence to the table.

Do Not Fly Kites, Kapil Mishra; Bring Evidence To The TableSacked AAP Delhi water resources minister Kapil Mishra is on a kite flying mission. He has been alleging that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took bribe in hard cash.

This is absurd as long as Mishra is not able to bring proof to the table. Even the worst critics of Kejriwal agree on one point: that Kejriwal would never take a bribe.

On Monday, Mishra appeared before the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch and submitted what he called was detailed evidence in the Rs 400-crore water tanker scam. “Whatever evidence I have, I gave it to the ACB. I will assist in the probe.”

Mishra has also sought an appointment with the Central Bureau of Investigation today to substantiate his claim that Health Minister Satyendra Jain gave Rs 2 crore of unaccounted money to Kejriwal. Mishra is likely to give a statement to the CBI soon.

If Mishra has the guts, he should put the evidence on public domain. Till then he would be viewed as a big liar.

It may be recalled that on Sunday, Mishra claimed that he saw Jain hand over Rs 2 crore to Kejriwal. Mishra alleged that he was sacked immediately after he sought details of the source of the funds.

That was just a lame excuse. He was sacked and it was then that he suddenly remembered about the so-called bribe.

“I saw Kejriwal take Rs 2 crore from (Health and Transport Minister) Satyender Jain. Jain told me he had struck a deal of Rs 50 crore for one of Kejriwal’s relatives. When I told Kejriwal about this he said, ‘This is false and you should have faith in me’. I told him I trust him but having seen the cash with my own eyes, it was not possible for me to keep quiet.” Mishra also said there were several discrepancies related to funding ahead of the Punjab assembly elections.

Do Not Fly Kites, Kapil Mishra; Bring Evidence To The TableThe Aam Aadmi Party on Monday put up a strong counter to  Mishra’s allegations. The party said the sacked water resources minister had himself in the past claimed that the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch was trying to implicate Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the purported water tanker scam.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh claimed that Mishra was repeating the same allegations made by the BJP. “Whatever Mishra alleged about Kejriwal, they are same allegations made by the BJP in the past,” Singh said.
