NEET result 2017: The CBSE demanded to put a stay on Madras High Court interim order restraining publication of results of NEET for admission to MBBS and BDS. The results were initially scheduled to be declared in the first week of June.

NEET Result 2017 Declare NEET Result, Supreme Court Ordered to CBSE-News-Time NowThe Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to announce the results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), surpassing the order of the High Court of Madras. The CBSE had moved to the apex court demanding its intervention in the matter and initiating its transfer from the high court of Madras and Gujarat to the apex court.

The Supreme Court ordered the NEET 2017 result to be announced by June 26, the result was originally scheduled to be released on June 8. The request by the CBSE required to suspend the interim order of the High Court of Madras restricting the publication of NEET results for admission to MBBS and BDS. Results were initially scheduled to be reported in the first week of June.

However, a vacation bank of judges P C Pant and Deepak Gupta said that the statement of results as well as the following councils and admissions will be subject to the decision of the special court in the matter pending before it.

NEET Result 2017 Declare NEET Result, Supreme Court Ordered to CBSE-News-Time NowThe court noted that the high court’s order was “indirectly diluting the schedule” set by the apex court. “On a ground we are inclined to remain high court order. What indirectly this order is doing is that it is diluting the schedule set by the Supreme Court,” the bench said while staying the high court order.

The court also requested all higher courts not to file petitions on matters related to the National Eligibility Test-Entry Test (NEET) 2017.

There were separate petitions filed in the high courts of Madras and Gujarat where medical applicants demanded the cancellation of NEET 2017 as the Gujarati and Tamil Medium paper were supposed to be harder than the English and Hindi medium. The High Court of Madras on 24 May had suspended any proceedings concerning the outcome of the NEET.

Given the urgency of the result and the start of counseling sessions for successful candidates, the apex court has suspended the order of the High Court of Madras.

NEET Result 2017 Declare NEET Result, Supreme Court Ordered to CBSE-News-Time NowASG Singh had previously told the apex court that 12 lakh students appeared in NEET 2017, about 10.5 lakh students have passed the test in Hindi or English, while about 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh students have appeared in eight Vernacular languages.

NEET 2017 in 10 languages, including English, Hindi and others. NEET became mandatory for admission to MBBS and BDS courses across India last year.
