Kerala Staring at Widespread Community Transmission of Covid-19

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala continued to report a rise in Covid-19 cases with 720 testing positive for Coronavirus on Tuesday. The worrying aspect continued to be cases through contacts which was 528 today.

Thiruvananthapuram (151), Kollam (85), Ernakulam (80) and Malappuram (61) reported a high number of cases.

Another worry spot is that the State has 18 big clusters of Covid cases and 101 small clusters. A fast-emerging hotspot is the border area with Karnataka. With a large number of people from Kasargode going for work in Dakshina Kannada district, cases are on the rise.

18 NUNS TESTED POSITIVE IN ALUVA.

A visibly worried Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tried to put up a defence during his customary evening press briefing saying that the State is better off compared to other states. He denied that there was an error of judgment in dealing with the pandemic.

Despite Pinarayi’s denial, Kerala is staring at widespread community transmission, especially in coastal areas like Challanam and Puthura.
