Karnataka crosses 4 lakh COVID figure

Bengaluru: Karnataka Monday crossed the four lakh mark in Covid-19 caseload with 5773 patients testing positive. The total stood at 4,04,324. The active cases are 97001.

Considering the last few days where the daily new cases hovered around 9K, today’s low numbers were due to a steep decrease in testing. While in the past one week the average testing figures were around 75K, today it was just 45,421.

The state also recorded 141 deaths, taking the toll to 6534.

Bengaluru recorded 2942 new positive cases and 48 Covid-related deaths. Other districts which recorded high incidence of positive cases were Mysuru, Ballari and Shivamogga.
