With the BJP Win in Uttar Pradesh elections, we bring to you the list of probable Chief Ministerial candidates.
With the BJP’s absolute majority mark in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, the focus is now on who will head India’s largest state.
BJP got 324 out of 403 seats, in the election. But the party refused to name a Chief Ministerial candidate throughout the vigorous campaigning.
The party mobilized support in the state using OBC and MBC cards which were led by Keshav Prasad Maurya. He could be seen as a candidate who would be considered first for the Chief Minister seat in Uttar Pradesh.
Another powerful Hindutva face in UP has been Yogi Adityanath and could be another probable Chief Minister.
Yogi has been a popular Hindu extremist face in the state and his popularity among the youth and Hindus may add to his capabilities of becoming the Chief Minister.
Apart from Adityanath, another candidate whose name is doing the rounds is Santosh Gangwar, who was an MP in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh for almost 20 years. He is currently the Minister of State for Finances.
Considering his popularity in the state with having being defeated only once, Gangwar could also occupy the CM chair.
The BJP could also choose to go with the existing powerful leader like Rajnath Singh to rule the state.
