Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) Wednesday questioned Sandalwood actors Diganth Manchale and Aindrita Ray in connection with the alleged drug trafficking case.

The actors, who are husband and wife in real life too, were questioned about their links with other accused in the case, including high-profile party organiser Viren Khanna, Aditya Alva, Rahul Tonse and Ravi Shankar.

Sources said the police have digital evidence that Diganth and Aindrita had allegedly attended parties that were attended by Ragini and Sanjjana. The police were particularly interested in a video of Aindrita Ray promoting a party that went viral in some party groups.

The name of the couple popped up after two of the persons accused of peddling drugs in the case allegedly revealed their names during interrogation.

Meanwhile, Sandalwood actor Sanjjanaa Galrani was Wednesday remanded into judicial custody by a local court. Along with Sanjjanaa, accused Viren Khanna, Ravi Shankar and others have also been sent to judicial custody.

On Monday, Ragini Dwivedi was sent to 14-day judicial custody.

Sanjjanaa was arrested by the CCB on September 8 after cops raided her flat and reportedly seized a lot of materials, which are now being analysed.

Meanwhile, continuing the crackdown on illegal drugs, the Karnataka police have unearthed a massive marijuana cultivation and distribution racket in Chitradurga district’s Rampura. The police seized 9,872 kilograms of marijuana worth Rs 4.2 crore in open market.

Although three brothers who are owners of the plot were arrested, the police are on the lookout for prime suspect Rudresh who had taken the land on lease and was cultivating cannabis plants.
