1,000 Men Deployed In Ayodhya To Shoo Away Monkeys At Temple Site

Ayodhya,UP:After a groundbreaking for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the authorities here have reviewed all possible threats from the monkeys.

An official said scores of workers would monitor the area around Ram Janmabhoomi so that Ayodhya’s monkeys are not found near the Bhoomi Pujan site, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would participate on Wednesday.

Devotees going for a darshan of Ram Lalla at the makeshift temple are used to make way for the deity via a Caged walkway, in part due to the danger of monkeys.

A government information department official told PTI that city officials and the animal husbandry department have been asked to “keep the facility safe from monkeys.”

They will use catapults and wooden batons to scare away monkey in the locality. But the most effective weapon would be the gram and the fruit, he said.

To present these monkeys, it will be offered at a certain distance from the site.

The official said employees of sanitation workers, home guards and the animal husbandry department will continue to work. PTI
