Sharjah ready with its largest ever fireworks to welcome 2017Sharjah: Al Majaz Waterfront, one of Sharjah’s favourite spots, is gearing up for their most spectacular celebrations yet with a colossal firework display that will take over the night sky.

The celebrations are aimed at giving residents, tourists and visitors a truly memorable entry into 2017.

Sharjah’s skies will be lit up over a 10-minute fireworks display and create an outstanding portrait over a large space, which will enable spectators to enjoy it from a number of tourist destinations, such as Al Noor Island, Al Montazah, Flag Island, and Khalid Lagoon’s Corniche.

The New Year’s celebrations will kick off with celebratory music filling the air. This will be accompanied by spectacular fireworks, which will take the shape of the countdown to the new year and the number 2017 illuminating the skies over the emirate.

Report says The plethora of restaurants and cafes along the Waterfront will be offering visitors a variety of special food and beverage offerings, celebratory activities and family entertainment.

Mohammed Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Manager of Al Majaz Waterfront said: “New Year’s Eve brings with itself a wonderful opportunity to get together with loved ones, celebrate to the fullest and share one’s optimism and fresh resolve for the year ahead. It is a time of great joy, and thus, we have been keen to organise this special event, which will the first-of- its-kind event in Sharjah. We promise all visitors to Al Majaz Waterfront a memorable evening marked by good family-themed entertainment.”

The Dh120 million Al Majaz Waterfront was launched in March 2012.

Al Majaz Waterfront has been hosting a spectrum of spectacular events like film screenings, stage shows, roaming performers and firework displays to commemorate national days and festivities, which provide visitors with wonderful opportunities for quality entertainment.

It houses many world-class facilities including restaurants, cafés, children’s zones, sports zones and more, making it one of the leading tourist and family destinations in Sharjah and the UAE.

The park has recently completed an Dh35 million extension project that has added 53,000 square feet to its total area and includes 12 new restaurants and cafés.

As part of the expansion project, Sharjah Fountain has been enlarged to overlook the series of dining outlets and extra 165 parking spaces have been added to accommodate the needs of the park’s increasing number of visitors.
