Rahul Gandhi’s Congress In A Mess in Kerala

Infighting has pushed Rahul Gandhi’s Congress in Kerala into a deep mess.

The Congress party in Kerala is in shambles. And party president Rahul Gandhi and the highcommand do not know what to do with the warlords in the party. In Congress party’s decay and decline, the BJP is eyeing to take the second slot in the state.

Today, former Kerala PCC chief V M Sudheeran made a personal attack on former chief minister Oomen Chandy accusing him of sabotage and groupism. Chandy had revenge in his blood and took every opportunity to snub him (Sudheeran) and isolate him, the former KPCC chief said.

He said when he wanted partial prohibition and demanded the closure of around 300 bars, Chandy announced the closure of over 700 bars and indirectly put the blame at Sudheeran’s doorsteps.

Chandy also did not participate in the public march soon after Sudheeran took over as KPCC chief. This was deliberate, Sudheeran said.

Disobeying the ban imposed by KPCC president M M Hassan on public mudslinging by the party leaders through media and social media, Sudheeran said he was deliberately coming out in the open as the very same party leaders who wanted a ban had disobeyed his dictate earlier.

Sudheeran said Congress will soon by wiped out in Kerala due to groupism and lashed out at what he called ‘group managers’ in the Congress.

He blamed the group managers for his resignation from the post of KPCC president and said that the groups will destroy the party in the state. “I am a victim of the group managers and they have never accepted me when I was the president. Hence, it was very difficult to work among them,” he lashed out at the ‘A’ and ‘I’ groups.

The bone of contention is the way the group managers ‘gifted’ the Rajya Sabha seat to Kerala Congress (M).

Earlier, at the executive committee meeting, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and Hassan owned up the responsibility for taking the decision to hand over the RS seat to KC(M).
