Manohar Parrikar Passes Away, Leaves Behind a Political Void

Goa prepares for life after Parrikar.

After being critically ill for a couple of days, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away at the age of 63.

He had been ailing for over a year and had gone abroad for treatment. His condition worsened in the last one week.

The President, Vice President, Prime Minister and Congress president Rahul Gandhi were among the leaders who condoled the demise of Goa chief minister.

With the passing away of Parrikar, Goa will be heading for a political turmoil as the BJP’s strength in the Assembly will further dip, giving the Congress a clear upper hand. Out of a total strength of 37 members, Congress has 14, BJP 12.
