The police have arrested bus conductor Ashok Kumar of Ryan International School for killing a kid for refusing to have sex.
In a major breakthrough, the police on Friday night arrested the main accused in the dastardly killing of a 7-year-old kid who was found dead at Gurgaon’s Ryan International School. The accused has been identified as Ashok Kumar, 42, a bus conductor working with the school.
According to the police, the bus conductor attempted to sexually assault the boy. But the boy was able to wriggle out of the clutches of the accused and raise an alarm. Fearing that he would be exposed, the conductor slit the boy’s throat resulting in his death.
The accused had been working at the school for the past 6-8 months. He had gone to use the toilet where he saw the boy. He had the knife with him in his pocket and tried to have sex with the kid.
The boy was found with his throat slit in a washroom in the school building in Sohna area in Gurugram at around 8.30 am Friday.
The conductor has admitted to the police that he murdered the kid because he objected to having sex with him.
Ashok Kumar is a resident of Ghamroj village in Gurgaon. He said he found the 7-year-old alone in the washroom, that encouraged him to attempt sexual assault. However, when the child was about to run away, Kumar pulled him in the washroom and slit his throat.
He stabbed the child twice and washed the knife in the washroom and threw the same at the site of crime.
After the child’s body was discovered, it was Kumar who helped the school authorities take him to Artemis Hospital.
Apart from Ashok Kumar, Ryan International School should also be held responsible for the murder. It is the school’s responsibility to ensure safety of the children. Vinod Chand Thakur, the child’s father, has approached Gurgaon Police Commissioner with his lawyer to demand action against the management of the school.
“The school could not even ensure basic safety for my son, how will then parents send children to school. My son did not even know the bus conductor as he never travelled in bus, we used to drop him and pick him,” Jyoti, the mother of the victim said.
According to Vinod Kumar, it took a lot of convincing to get his kid out of bed on Friday morning. He later dropped his kid outside the gates of the School. “He waved at me and I waved back,” said Vinod. Just 15 minutes later, he received frantic calls from his wife, and half an hour later, Vinod saw his son’s body at Artemis hospital.
“They cut my poor boy. The doctors told me the killer stabbed him twice. There was a big scar starting from his ear to the throat. His ear had been cut, and two flaps of skin exposed the insides of his throat. I never thought I would see my son in such a condition,” Vinod said as he broke into tears.
