OPS Hints Jaya Did Not Die a Natural Death, Sasikala Calls Him Liar and  Betrayer

There is a lot of action unfolding in Tamil Nadu between two acting individuals – an Acting Chief Minister, OPS and an Acting AIADMK General Secretary.

OPS Hints Jaya Did Not Die a Natural Death, Sasikala Calls Him Liar and  BetrayerIn a point to point rebuttal, AIADMK acting Gen Sec V K Sasikala today said O Paneerselvam is playing a drama for TV channels and that he has betrayed both Jayalalithaa and the AIADMK.

Addressing nearly 130 MLAs at the party headquarters in Chennai, she hinted that OPS was a liar as there was no pressure put on him to resign. In fact OPS wanted me to become the chief minister. So, what changed in 48 hours she wondered hinting at the role played by the Opposition DMK.

Raising her finger, Sasikala said nobody can shake the foundation of the AIADMK as Jayalalithaa’s blessings are with us. She asked the MLAs not to be afraid and be united.

Raising her voice, she said evil forces are trying to destroy AIADMK’s unity. That is not possible. The forces must face failure. She was obviously referring to the DMK.

In this context, she accused Panneerselvam of being in close contact with the DMK.

Sasikala’s outbursts clearly indicate that she is rattled by two developments; The rebellion led by OPS and former speaker PH Pandian and, more importantly, the growing doubts that Jaya did not die a natural death and that Sasikala had a hand in it.

But, touching a raw nerve of Sasikala, Paneerselvam today expressed doubts over the death of J Jayalalithaa.

Yesterday senior AIADMK leader PH Pandian had openly said that Jayalalithaa was pushed and fell down in her Poes Garden’s residence. Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar also has echoed the same views.

Cashing in on the wide spread belief that Jaya did not die a natural death OPS has now said that he will order an inquiry into the death of Amma.

Whether he can order such an enquiry as a care-taker CM is doubtful. Addressing the media today he also said he will follow Amma’s footsteps and that he is ready to prove his strength in assembly. ‘If needed I will meet Governor and withdraw my resignation’ he said.

He asserted that he is the chief minister and that he has the support of the people of Tamil Nadu.
