Md Ali Ege, a British fugitive criminal, made a dramatic escape from the Delhi Railway Station by wriggling out of a loo shaft.

British Fugitive Criminal Wriggles Out of Loo in Delhi Railway StationIn a scene that could be a straight lift from a crime thriller movie, Md Ali Ege, a 41-year-old British fugitive wanted in a murder case in the United Kingdom, escaped from the ventilator shaft in the toilet of the Government Railway Police Station in Delhi.

Ege is a national from Hyderabad and in a major embarrassment for the police, he escaped from custody at Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station on Wednesday night.

Ege, son of Yousaf Ali, is from Aghapura in Hyderabad. In April 2010, he hired two men kill a 17-year-old student, Aamir Siddiqi.  After the murder, Ege fled from the UK along with his family and came to India.

Ege’s family members, including his wife and kids, are still in Hyderabad and he is an accused in several cases in the UK.

The UK police came to know about Ege’s presence in Hyderabad and had alerted the local police. Subsequently a Red Corner Notice in his name was issued through the Interpol. The then Andhra Pradesh police picked up Ege from his Aghapura residence in October 2011.

By then Ege had obtained a fake Indian passport on the fictitious name of Abdul Mallik and three Voter ID cards, driving licence and a PAN card with various names, including Abdul Mallik, Abdul Jabbar and Mohammed Abdul Kareem. Ege’s brother Nassor Ali, also a British national, helped his brother in obtaining the fake documents. Nassor himself obtained a fake Indian passport.

British Fugitive Criminal Wriggles Out of Loo in Delhi Railway StationA case was registered against the brothers and currently trial is on. The two were lodged at the Cherlapally prison in Hyderabad.

On Tuesday, a five-member team of escort police, headed by an Armed Reserve SI of the Telangana Armed Reserve Police took Ege from Cherlapally prison to produce him before the Extradition Court at the Patiala Court Complex in Delhi.

On Wednesday, he was produced before the Extradition Court.

In the night, while they were waiting at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station to take a train to Hyderabad, Ege made the dramatic escape from the toilet ventilator of the Government Railway Police Station.

A case was booked in this regard by the railway police station at Hazrat Nizamuddin. The Hyderabad police have ordered an internal enquiry to find out if there was any laxity by the escort team.
