Magistrate’s court today rejected Dileep’s bail plea, but police have a weak case on hand.

DileepAmidst high drama, Dileep today submitted his two phones to the Angamaly Judicial first class magistrate court and pleaded for bail. His lawyer said the police were hunting for his phones and the same were being surrendered.

But the court did not grant bail to the Malayalam actor Dileep and sent to the judicial custody till July 25.

The defence counsel tore into the prosecution case stating that the police had cooked up an imaginative case and were hunting for non-existent proofs and evidences.

Despite no evidence coming forth, the prosecution shifted track stating that there were chances of Dileep influencing other witnesses in the case including Pulsar Suni’s former counsel Pratheesh Chacko and Dileep’s aide Appunni, who are now untraceable.

Then in a dramatic statement, the prosecution said Dileep may harm the actress once more.

The prosecution also said the phones surrendered in the court were not the ones that the police were hunting for. The phone in which the clips of the actress being sexually abused were recorded belonged to prime accused Pulsar Suni.

The police case is that Suni handed over the phone to advocate Prateesh Chacko.

Dileep’s lawyer Ramkumar said that there’s no necessity of keeping the accused in custody as he is a person having stature in the society and he would abide by all the conditions the court would suggest for bail. Also, the actor is a known face to people, minimizing the chances of him fleeing, defense added.

Dileep will now approach the High Court for bail on Monday.
