The drivers got a wind when two platoons of the CRPF landed at airport.
Bengaluru: For the question that how Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy correctly inferred about IT raids on officials and supporters of JD(S), the answer has been found.
Usually, matters about such raids would be a closely-guarded secret. That too, agencies which come under Central h will not reveal their strategies. In spite of all these, how CM got scent about it was a million dollar question!
Now, it came to light that some taxi drivers in Kempegowda International Airport at Bengaluru had tipped him off about this!
One of the drivers in the airport is said to have called up a close associate of Kumaraswamy and told him that two platoons of CRPF had arrived to Bengaluru, and were making bulk booking of 100 taxis!
Soon after receiving this piece of information, Kumaraswamy called Intelligence officials and asked them what were they doing when such crucial developments were happening in airport?
Then Intelligence Wing started its verification process, and it got news about IT raid preparation and also about IT department’s intended raid on various leaders’ residences and flats; and 200 cabs been booked for this special purpose. Soon, they passed this information to the CM.
In the normal process of such raids, the concerned departments usually take the assistance of Police of the state. But, in this case, assistance of CRPF was obtained by the IT department!
The raids were conducted under the leadership of IT Officer Balakrishna and a posse of 250 IT officials took part in the raid, it is said.
